The Science of Security Virtual Organization (SOS-VO) is an online community which promotes cooperation and partnerships within the academic community to advance cyber security science. Members of the SOS-VO benefit from the opportunities for recognition, collaboration, funding, and events offered by our organization.

If you are involved in academic cyber security research or are developing curriculum for cyber security science, you should consider joining our organization.

• Membership is rapidly growing, approaching 1000 reseachers from universities, research organizations, business, and government.
• The Science of Security team publishes a newsletter that features Signficant Cyber Security Research. Each month our selection committee reviews 2000-2500 published papers in 20 categories of cyber security research.  Only 10 – 15%, 10-20 papers per category are deemed Significant Research and included in the index as part of our newsletters and on the SOS-VO website.

• You will have access to the latest cyber security research information and news.  Many of the SOS-VO’s website resources are suitable to support universities' Science of Security courses.
• Members receive the latest news on funding opportunities and events.
• The SoS VO provides a wide range of information, networking, and collaboration capabilities:

1. Survey Current Research - track research projects in ongoing SoS and related security research programs
2. Review Important Announcements - get news on significant SoS-related activities
3. Find Out What's Happening - watch for events of interest in the community Calendar
4. Connect to Others - use chat, video conferencing, forums, and online networking
5. Share your Work - build wikis, set up special interest groups, upload files & tools, reports, multi-media
6. Discover Resources - search for people, papers, events, and other items of interest
7. Learn More - take advantage of educational resources contributed by SoS members and sponsors
